Farmers from Karonga have started harvesting their quality rice. The farmers got their inputs from Area Q Traders, and the company is ready to sell the rice on behalf of the farmers. It is expected that the farmers will pay back the inputs and have enough returns from this initiative.
Area Q Traders Chief Executive Officer Mabuchi Mwafulirwa was excited that apart from feeding the nation, the farmers are also benefiting from the sales of their produce. “Apart from being a business, Area Q Traders is empowering farmers to work hard and gain more from the proceeds of their sweat” said Mwafulirwa.
It is expected that the rice farmers will have their living conditions improved as the rice they have harvested is of good quality and will fetch best prices.
